We have an extensive panel of insurers that can meet virtually any risk. At present we have over 60 agencies in place that are either Composite Insurers, Lloyds Underwriters, Lloyds Brokers, Wholesale Placing facilities or Online Package based products.

We freely admit that there may be some gaps as we do not trade with some insurers for a variety of reasons, and this should be looked at if you are looking to transfer an existing book of business to our agency. If the business case is strong, we are happy to sign up new agencies but these can be refused for reasons which may be beyond our control.

Unrated Insurers – Due to recent uncertainty from certain overseas insurance markets, we no longer allow trading with any insurers that have either no S&P or other security rating. We want to be confident that our clients are suitably protected by our insurers panel.

We are proud members of the Purple Partnership network who are our supporters and will assist in any way they can, to ensure that you are able to trade successfully with their insurer partner panel. Once we are at the point of moving to full authorisation, we would like you to apply for membership in order to obtain the required agency base needed for a seamless and smooth transition of business.

Once you have been registered, your system’s been set up and you are cleared to trade, how do you go about it? Again, this is where we differ from other networks; we want you to run the business as if you were fully authorised, which means developing your own markets.

The insurers we deal with understand our business model and are happy to help you. Therefore, you will get:

  • Personal log-ins and access to whichever online systems you feel you need to trade in
  • Introduced to certain underwriters or companies with whom you wish to start trading
  • An 'essentialrisksolutions.co.uk' email address to use in addition to your own, to allow you to send presentations and correspond directly with underwriters
  • A full suite of branded documentation to allow you to issue quotations directly to your clients
  • Additional documentation to allow you to remain compliant at all times
  • Support, if you are unsure where or how to place certain risks, including access to other ARs who may have particular specialisations in specific areas.



We currently accept payment in a number of ways:

  • Cheques (made payable to Essential Risk Solutions Ltd)
  • BACS / Internet Transfer direct to our Client Money Account
  • Close Premium Finance (we have a group facility on a telesign up basis. Once you read your script you need only provide the banking information to our accounts department and put the details into our fully integrated system.
  • Credit / Debit Card payments can be processed on our integrated system. Some cards are chargeable and you will be provided with full processes and scripts to utilise.



There are a number of reports you can access. We are only limited by the system in that respect. However, as a standard you will receive the following:

  • Aged Debtors Report (every week) – this will show you who owes you money as of that date. It also splits the ledger to show cases on finance that have yet to be paid
  • Renewal List – a 60 day renewal list is issued on the 1st of every month
  • Earned Commission Reports to show what you are due to paid for that month



Provided we have been paid either by the client or by the finance company before the last day of the month (month end), you will be paid for that client after we complete the month end procedure

You will be issued with a report of the cases you have written and the commission amount you are owed. All payments will be paid by BACS.

Whilst we have the ability to produce a commission statement per AR on the system and simply pay on this, we prefer to get the AR to verify this against their own records.

This way, every case is checked manually to ensure that the AR is happy with the amount they are paid and that queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently at the time.




Each Appointed Representative receives a bespoke deal that can be based on commission ceding, equity sharing or a combination of both. Our mission is to build the right deal for you to take your business forward!
